Jeannie Newell, MMNA president, and Brian Kannady, MMNA leadership committee member, have reported that the association has arranged to receive the bricks from the Mayo Meadow Shopping Center demolition. (The bricks would be used as part of proposed signage at the neighborhood entrances if the Vision 2025 committee selects our neighborhood's proposal and then directs the city to construct the proposed signage.)
A group of residents are planning on meeting at the shopping center's 21st Street entrance at 5 p.m., Thursday (Jan. 26), to load the bricks into pickup trucks and secure the bricks for storage at a private neighborhood residence.
Brian also reports that we are going to receive the two large neon M's from the Mayo Meadow sign. (These letters are *not* for use in our Vision 2025 project, but we are working to secure them to protect a piece of Tulsa's past.)
So ... volunteers (and pickup trucks) are needed to help move the bricks on Thursday. Bring your gloves and join the fun on this worthwhile project!
