This is beyond a strictly neighborhood issue, but if you would like to comment on the future of the region's transportation needs, please review the following message sent out by INCOG:
INCOG has prepared the 2007 - 2010 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and it is now available for public review and comment. INCOG develops the TIP in cooperation with ODOT, the Metropolitan TulsaTransit Authority (MTTA), airports, and local government within the Tulsa Transportation Management Area (TMA). The TIP presents a program of improvements to the surface transportation system within the Tulsa Transportation Management Area to be implemented during a four-year period with federal matching funds. The projects, which have a combination of federal, state, and local funding sources, cover a wide range of transportation modes, including streets and highways, public transportation, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, andairport improvements. Planned improvements include new construction; expansion of existing services and facilities; operation, maintenance and reconstruction of existing facilities; efficiency improvements to increase the effectiveness of existing transportation investments; and projects specifically identified for their abilities to maintain the Tulsa area's "clean air" status. Additionally, Tulsa Transit relies on the MPO (INCOG) public involvement process for the TIP to satisfy FTA program of projects (POP) public involvement requirements. You can view the document online at http://www.incog.org/Transportation/FFY2007-2010TIP.pdf or by visiting the INCOG offices (201 W 5th Street, Suite 600, Tulsa, OK 74103) between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All comments regarding the 2007-2010 TIP must be received by 10 a.m., July 13, 2006.
