Tomorrow night (January 23) is the Republican precinct election for precinct 76, which has the same boundaries as the Mayo Meadow Neighborhood Association -- 21st to the BA, Pittsburg to Yale. We will be meeting at 7 p.m. at the Village Inn at 28th and Harvard in their meeting room. Mikki Bates is the current precinct chairman.
The meeting is open to any registered Republican voter in the precinct. We will be electing precinct officers for the next two years and signing up to be delegates at the Tulsa County Republican Convention. This is the first step in a process that will elect a chairman, a vice chairman and other officials for the Tulsa County and Oklahoma Republican party organizations.
Two parts of the meeting should be especially interesting. First, we'll be voting on resolutions for inclusion in the county and state party platforms. If there is an issue at the local, state, or national level that matters to you, and you think the Tulsa County Republican Party should take a stand on it, come and make your case. All of us will discuss and vote on each proposed resolution, and those that have a majority will be forwarded on to the county platform committee.
Also, we'll be conducting a straw poll for the 2008 presidential nomination. The numbers from all the precincts will be tallied and the results will be reported to the media. Oklahoma has one of the earliest primaries next year, so campaigns will be very interested to see who has grass-roots support here. By showing up and voting in the poll, you can give your favorite candidate a boost toward the White House.
If you have questions, or if you can't attend Tuesday but would like to be a delegate to the County Convention, please contact Mikki Bates at 749-7816 or by e-mail at mikki@batesline.com. You can also contact the Tulsa County Republican HQ at 627-5702.

Republican Meeting Notice - From Neighbor
One of our neighbors asked us to post this announcement to the local Republican Party. The MMNA is a non-partisan organization and maintains this site to facilitate communication among our neighbors. Posting of this announcement does not constitute an endorsement. (And, yes, we would post that disclaimer for the Democrats, as well.)
