Minutes of the Mayo Meadow Neighborhood Association (MMNA)
Tuesday, Nov 15, 2005
St. Andrews Presbyterian Church
Jeanie Newell, president, called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. Jeanie welcomed the group, and thanked everyone involved with putting the meeting together. Ninety seven neighbors signed in.
The stated goal of the meeting was to gather names of those who were interested in neighborhood activities. The group also wanted to distribute a survey to determine what issues were of interest to the neighborhood. The results of the survey will determine what activities or projects the group should address in the future.
Jeanie introduced the seventeen neighbors who volunteered to serve as a leadership team this year. Erica Parker introduced the block captains, who walked the neighborhood to distribute the flyers for the meeting. She asked for more volunteers to help distribute flyers in the future.
Erica, who also serves as MMNA treasurer, reported that our treasury consisted of $8.15. She asked neighbors to indicate on the survey their ideas for raising money for our association.
Carol Holly reviewed the activities to date of the MMNA. We will re-submit our Vision 2025 grant next week. We did not receive funding last year, but we were asked to resubmit for the second round of grants.
Jeanie announced that Paula Gomez had secured covenants for all the subdivisions in the association. Jeanie invited neighbors to contact her if they want to review them.
Michael Bates and David Hamby reported on the website they had created for the association, http://tulsamayomeadow.blogspot.com/. The webpage will be updated with announcements and neighborhood association news. David Hamby created our e-mail address: mayomeadow@hotmail.com. This will be the official address of the association.
Michael Bates reported on the planned demolition and construction of the Wal-Mart at 21st and Yale, and showed a copy of the blueprints. Further details on the plans for the Wal-Mart are available on our webpage.
A short question and answer period followed. Surveys were returned to the leadership team.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Jeanie Newell, President

Wondering when the next metting is going to be held?
When will we see the results of the survey taken at the Nov. 15th meeting?
No mention of what the treasury looks like now after the meeting intake.
Any thought given to creating a Newsletter so those who don't have or use a computer can keep up on the doings of the Assoc.?
What are the issues facing the Assoc at present? Election of officers?
Voting rights? Future activities?
Establishing By-Laws?
On what schedule can we expect to see new News of the Neighborhood here on the Website? 1st of the Month? the 15th?
When do we see any leadership from the Leadership Committee? Newell's comment was posted almost a month ago. Are there no further updates, events,
meetings, subjects to write about?

Just found this site via losttulsa.com
Don't know how I missed any info about a neighborhood association meeting.
I saw one sign posted the day before at 36th and Yale but never saw any other signs nor was contacted. Being a twice, long time resident, I am very interested in being a part of the homeowners association but already had a prior commitment on Nov 15th. I read through the minutes but can find no where on the site where a suggested amount for dues is listed. It would be great for info like this to be posted and a paypal account setup to pay them. I noticed Michael Bates takes donations through paypal on his site.
I also would like any updated info on new pad tenants to the shopping center. (It was my understanding that Yale Cleaners pulled out.)I was hoping that if we were going to lose Mayo Meadow Shopping Center that we would get a new restaurant and maybe a coffee shop...Starbucks would be nice. Has there been any effort to contact possible pad tenants we would like located in the center?
I appreciate finding the site and what is already happening.
Thanks!
