Many thanks for those who attended the Mayo Meadow Neighborhood Association (MMNA) meeting on March 15. We had a good turn out and a great presentation from the Citizens' Crime Commission and the Alert Neighbors program.
During the meeting, a committee sign-up list was passed around regarding the various committees that are part of the MMNA organization. However, not everyone had an opportunity to review the committee list or sign up. Included below is a list of the MMNA committees:
* Alert Neighbors Program.
* Vintage Mayo Meadow Neighbors & Neighborhood History Committee. This committee also is looking for residents who have lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and/or second generation MM families. If you know of anyone who fits this description, please send an email to the association at the email address below.
* Neighborhood Entry Gates Landscaping and Maintenance. This committee will work on the initial landscape plans for our new neighborhood entrance signs (see the Vision 2025 proposal entry below). The committee will also work on securing plants for the landscaping, as well as planting and maintenance of landscaping at 21st & Pittsburg and median at 27th & Pittsburg.
* Neighborhood Improvement. This committee will address public safety, traffic concerns, zoning issues, streets, sidewalks,repair & lighting.
* Publishing and Distribution of Neighborhood Newsletter and Directory.
* Social Events & Fundraising Activities.
* Initiatives Supporting Neighborhood Schools.
* Mayo Meadow Walking Club, for those interested in finding a neighborhood walking buddy.
To learn more or to sign up to volunteer for one of these committees, please send an email to the association.
